Pumpipumpe – A sharing community.

Background and Vision

Pumpipumpe is a sharing community project that started out in Bern and now is available across Europe. It is a tool to help activating a network in your neighborhood.

It makes visible all the useful items that are hidden away in apartments, basements, boxes and closets that are rarely used. Through special stickers on your mailbox you can indicate and communicate that your tools and items are open for sharing. The goal is an active dialogue among neighbors and the potential of fostering networks among neighborhoods.

The shared items and stickers can also be registered online. Neighborhood stories can be shared with the community on the Pumpipumpe’s website.
